Spiced Cupcakes with Apple Compote

I have a simple antidote
That won’t stick to the throat:
Fragrant spiced cupcakes,
with a warm apple compote.

(Pardon this short narrate
For the offspring pain and ache)
Firstly, add pizzazz to batter
With cinnamon and nutmeg

Second, to get to this compote’s pith
Peel and cube three Granny Smith
Throw in a bit of brown sugar
And let stew henceforth, herewith

Lastly, scoop out cupcakes’ core
(Use a spoon, cylindrical bore)
Then fill in the sweet stewed fruit;
Eat, and come back for some more!
