BakeSlave

Bake Someone Happy !

Awards

When I started BakeSlave in late August 2012, I never did think I’d get past the grand readership of three – you know who you are – let alone meet such a cool, huge community of like-minded food lovers. This blogging thing is great! Why didn’t I get into it earlier! I guess it is true, old dogs like me can learn new tricks, although I still have a long way to go to hone my kitchen and writing skills 😛

So Thank You to my fellow bloggers who have made special mention of BakeSlave in sharing their chain awards. Hugs!

(Nominated by Vinita of vinicooksveg & Veena of Vina’sdeliciousrecipes!)

The rules of the Very Inspiring Blogger Award are as follows:

  • Visit and thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and link back.
  • Share 7 random things about yourself.
  • Select other blogs for the award and let them know.

BakeSlave Does 7 Random Facts

  1. I am not a trained baker (that’s pretty obvious, ha ha). I am, however, trained in the complexities of triturations, levigations and compounding, which, I suppose, allows me half the street cred to claim some  level of competence in the Mixing Up Stuff department. (I am a clinical pharmacist, currently on a self-imposed sabbatical)
  2. I once backtracked on a highway to pick up a newborn kitten huddled in the middle of the road.
  3. I don’t like pink, princesses, and pink princesses.
  4. I could eat Marmite on toast all day. Bliss.
  5. I do Slash on my air guitar, to the utter bewilderment of Master Six and Ms. Three, who have been initiated into the their mum’s worship of Guns N Roses, the poor things.
  6. I totally dig The Far Side Gallery, and the Argyle Sweater, and am holding out for the day that Scott Hilburn will be revealed as Gary Larson’s nom de plume.
  7. I have wondered what it will be like to watch the entire box set of the LOTR in one sitting, loo breaks permitted of course.

Like the flu, this is contagious, so I’m passing on the love (in no particular order) of the Very Inspiring Blogger Award to bloggers who have set the bar higher (and I apologize to not being able to cope yet with collating the desired numbers):

(Nominated by Namita of Namita’s Kitchen, Ankit of The Food Gypsy on 23 March 2013, and artandkitchen on 6 May 2013)

Here are the rules of the One Lovely Blog award:

BakeSlave Does 7 More Random Facts:

(This time, I thought I’d do maladies)

  1. I have math anxiety.
  2. I am normally in a state of constant physical inertia.
  3. I am allergic to cats. Ironically enough, I am a Leo.
  4. I am absolutely fearful of clowns. Hello? Stephen King’s It? Need I say more?
  5. I also have globophobia. Yup. I am scared of balloons. When I was 7, we had a Sports Day relay race; my task was to run up to the balloon and blow it up until it burst. In my face. I have not been enjoying birthday parties ever since.
  6. I don’t always complete my course of antibiotics. Ssshhh.
  7. I am a bit of a hoarder.

Here’s a shoutout to deserving bloggers I’d love to nominate for the One Lovely Blog Award (in no particular order):

  • Copy the Beautiful Blogger Award logo and place it in your post.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Tell 7 things about yourself.
  • Nominate other bloggers for their own Beautiful Blogger Award, and comment on their blogs to let them know.

BakeSlave does random, again:

  1. My heart doesn’t skip a beat for white chocolate.
  2. Food has three syllables. Yup. That’s how I roll.
  3. I use a Wallace & Gromit kids’ apron.
  4. Caffeine is my drug of choice.
  5. I don’t “get” Ants on A Log. But I still love PB.
  6. My favourite bread is sourdough.
  7. I like to bite down on my cod liver oil capsules. For that olfactory assault. Because I’m a tough cookie that way.

Passing on the love of this Beautiful Blogger Award to Spontaneous Tomato for being the gold standard; Allison’s photos are the bee’s knees. Drool.

Blog of the Year Award 1 Star | Nat Yusop

(Nominated by artandkitchen on 8 December 2012)

“The ‘rules’ for this award are simple:

  1. Select another blog or other blogs who deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award;
  2. Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award;
  3. Include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award at the Thought Palette and provide these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
  4. Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
  5. You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
  6. As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

The next part:
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
For more information check FAQ on The Thought Palette
